Windham Area Interfaith Ministry

the commitment of WAIM is the free redistribution of clothing, household goods and furniture to people who need them. Donors come from one of the 39 faith communities-at large, supplying us with items they no longer use. WAIM is a volunteer driven organization that serves about 7500 people a year via basic services and special programs. We have expanded into provision of energy assistance and administering funds to prevent homelessness. Unmet Needs Program:  Small grants are made to our neighbors in need through the Unmet Needs Fund (UNF). Unmet Needs can cover anything from emergency rental assistance, to prescription assistance, to money for diapers or car seats. A significant amount of this fund is used for transportation, helping individuals get or keep their vehicles on the road in order to secure employment or get back and forth to work. Last year, we distributed approximately $7400 in small UNF grant to 147 families for an average award of $50.
