Catholic Charities Diocese Of St. Petersburg, Inc.

Catholic Charities serves with charity and compassion to promote the sanctity and dignity of all people with God. As a member of Church, Catholic Charities offers hope by helping those in need and unites with others in service. Rental Assistance: Rapid ReHousing is funded by grant through the US Department of Housing and Development (HUD). The program is designed for families who are experiencing homelessness and need temporary assistance in order to obtain and retain housing. It is not intended to provide long-term support for program participants, nor will it address all of the financial and supportive service needs affecting housing stability. Rather, assistance is focuses on stabilization, linking program participants to community resources and mainstream benefits, and helping them develop a plan for preventing future housing instability. The type and duration of assistance will vary and may include assistance with the following: past due rent, late fees, security and/or utility deposits, utility payments, rent and other related costs. Participation in case management is mandatory to assist households in accessing support services to ensure their success. Rental assistance may be provided on a short term basis from 3 to 12 months. Families will be required to pay the entire rent to owner when his or her income has stabilized. The agency will conduct a reexamination of the client’s income to determine eligibility. If the agency determines more rental assistance is needed for stabilization, the agency may continue to pay on a case by case basis. The owner will be provided an exit notice of when assistance will terminate.

Hi . My name is Stella and I am 53 years old. I tried to call May 29th from 8 until 3 in the afternoon and could not get a hold of anybody as I was told that was when financial assistance for rent was going to be happening. I was homeless 3 years ago and at Catholic Charities Pinellas hope they were very good to me and I am in desperate need to get caught up on my rent. Much appreciated and God bless us all.
