Catholic Charities - St Augustine

Since 1975, the Catholic Charities of St. Augustine has provided assistance to residents of St. Johns, Putnam, and Flagler counties. The st. Augustine Regional office has shared in the mission and traditions of the Catholic Church since 1944. In December of 1975, the first "official" office was opened in St. Augustine by Father O'Flaherty. This office was housed at San Sebastian Catholic Church, located on State Road 16. In 1997, we moved into a larger facility on West King Street in downtown St. Augustine. As of April 14, 2014, we had the privilege of moving and expanding our operation to our new home located at 3940 Lewis Speedway. Over the Years, the St. Augustine regional Office has grown into a multi-faceted agency that served more than 10,000 people in our surrounding communities last year, primary families with minor children, senior citizens, and individuals in need. Their programs and services include Emergency Assistance with Rent/Mortgage and Utility bills, Emergency Food Assistance and Weekend Hunger Backpack Program. Their services are offered to all people regardless of religious affiliation, gender, race, or ethnic origin. Homeless Prevention:  "Are you in danger of becoming homeless or experiencing a financial crisis due to circumstances beyond your control?" Catholic Charities is committed to providing the basic needs necessary to prevent homelessness. A crisis situation can threaten families already living from paycheck to paycheck with an unexpected illness, loss of employment, or other family crisis impacts finances already stretched too far. Our Homeless Prevention Program is open to families with children, households that are homeless, clients referred from other agencies that have worked with the family/individual, households or individuals who have experienced domestic violence in the past 30 days and families with children that are secondary tenants.
