Rent / Utility Assistance Each household (address) is normally eligible for utility and/or rent assistance only once each year. A number of grants provide money for this assistance, each with limits on the total dollar amount available per household. The nature of the emergency which caused the need must be documented. Project Care (a program based on donations paid with utility bills: Entergy or Texas Gas Service) is available for utility assistance to senior citizens (65 and older) and those on disability who are 55 and up. Assistance limits apply and are subject to change. The current limit is $200 every six months.
