The Chambers – Tallapoosa – Coosa Community Action Committee, Inc. (CTC/CAC) is a locally operated, private, non profit corporation created to mobilize human and financial resources in combating poverty in the immediate areas. The CTC/CAC puts local people to work for the community. They offer emergency services which provides funds for emergency situations for rent, medical prescriptions, food, homeless individuals / families. They also have a program called The Low Income Home Energy Assistance (LIHEAP). This program is designed to assist low income households in the cost of heating their homes in the winter and for clients with special needs – cooling of homes in the summer.
