John D'amelia and Associates

John D'Ameilia and Associates administers the Connecticut Department of Housing subsidized housing programs including Section 8 and the Rental Assistance Program (RAP). The subsidized Rental Housing programs are for low-income persons in privately owned rental housing.  The Rental Assistance Program is the major state-funded program used for assisting very low-income families to afford decent, safe, and sanitary housing in the private market. Participants find their own housing, including apartments, townhouses, and single-family homes. The participant is free to choose any private rental housing that meets the requirements of the program, as described above. RAP certificates are funded through the Department of Housing (DOH) and are administered statewide by DOH and by them, its agent, John D'Amelia and Associates. They subcontract operation of the housing choice program to seven local Public Housing Authorities (PHAs) and on Community Action Agency throughout Connecticut.

Good morning. I have been trying to call for the last 4 days with no answer. Trying to get some information on why we have not received our check as of July 13, 2020. I know due to the holiday that things were delayed a bit but it is going too long now.

How do you calculate the rent for a disabled person whose only income is social security disability? My rent went from $172.00, two years ago; to $157.00 last year, and has increased to $190.00 beginning December 1, 2020. What is the formula?
