Chandler Neighborhood Resources strengthens and enriches the community by providing high quality services and resources through: * Neighborhood revitalization * Resident empowerment * Promotion and celebration of diversity * City code enforcement * Excellent housing assistance Community Development :  Community Development administers funds and programs that improve the quality of life for low to moderate-income families and assists in the stabilization of Chandler neighborhoods. This includes the implementation of programs funded with federal, as well as City dollars. In addition, Community Development works to bring together resources from the faith community, nonprofit agencies, the private sector and other City departments to address the needs of all Chandler residents. Learn more at:  http://www.chandleraz.gov/default.aspx?pageid=43 Code Enforcement:   The Code Enforcement Section strives to improve the quality of life in the City of Chandler and promote the public health, safety, and general welfare of the community by protecting neighborhoods and property values from blight, decline, and deterioration. Code Enforcement uses education and proactive enforcement of the City’s zoning, sign, and neighborhood maintenance codes and timely removal of graffiti incidents to achieve its goals. The City’s goal is to work towards the elimination of prejudice and discrimination among all citizens within our community regardless of personal identifying markers. Programs include the diversity education mini-grants totaling $10,000 for youth education, eight For Our City initiatives and more than 25 cultural events and community forums held annually. The division also increases resident knowledge of community based programs and offer training and educational activities to empower residents and develop informed neighborhood leaders. Learn more at:  http://www.chandleraz.gov/default.aspx?pageid=639 Housing  and Redevelopment :  The Housing and Redevelopment Division assists more than 500 households through a federal rental housing assistance (Housing Choice Voucher, also known as section 8) program. We also develop and manage over 300 units of affordable rental housing properties. The majority of our program funding comes from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Our programs and properties are targeted to assist low, very low, and extremely low-income households.
