Emergency Housing In 2011 the Commonwealth of Massachusetts implemented a new approach to assisting families at risk of becoming homeless.   Home BASE offers an alternative to shelter and provides time-limited assistance designed to provide a housing solution for families who are at serious risk of homelessness rather than going into a shelter or motel.   HAPHousing is the primary HomeBASE provider in Hampden and Hampshire Counties and has contracts with the state to provide prevention, temporary accommodations, re-housing and stabilization services.  For more information on eligibility

    I am currently renting a 3 bdrm for 2 years. The landlords decided on selling the house, my family & I are in need of a home, we are looking for a rent to own if possible.

    I've been living in old rental apt for 21 years & handicapped. New owners sent us s a letter to sign indicating raise in rent by $325.00 monthly to $1100. If we did not sign and return to them, we would have to get out. Is there any help you can offer me on what I should do.
