Hello, I'm a single mother of 5 1/2, 3 teenagers and one 9 yr. old and a 12 yr. old with another son on the way due next month November 27th. My 2 oldest son's are incarcerated and my oldest daughter resides with her father. My 2 youngest from marriage, but divorced different relationship reside with me. We live on CMHA property Outhewaite Estates to be exact, this is me and my children's first time staying in the projects and can I just say. It is very dangerous, uncomfortable and a true eye opener. I'm truly depressed all of the time as well as my girl's, due to staying in such an environment where life expectancy doesn't really exist. I'm struggling with my rent due to spending nights in other places just to feel safe. I put in a transfer to move and the first place I was shown, was worst than where had already resided. This is hard on our family because there isn't any piece, gun shots, fighting, drugs eluding right outside my apartment. The management office is rude and can careless about you or you're situation. They have no respect for you in the way they see you and speak to you. I'm in need of rent assistance but, I prefer help finding better housing. Low income, income based, I can provide rent but, my income at the most is maybe $400.00 and that's reaching but raising my kid's and being in a more safer environment to me is well worth it. Can you're program help me? Please. Shannon C. Priest
