Homelessness Prevention and Rapid Re-Housing Program On February 17, 2009, President Obama signed the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, which provides for $1.5 billion for the Homelessness Prevention Fund. Snohomish County Human Services Department - SNOHOMISH COUNTY offers program that called the Homelessness Prevention and Rapid Re-Housing Program (HPRP), are distributed on the basis of the formula used for the Emergency Shelter Grants (ESG) program. Scholars may provide assistance or rental services to program participants who reside or would like to reside outside of their jurisdiction. Funding may also be provided to subgrantees serving persons outside the jurisdiction, subgrantees located outside the jurisdiction, and subgrantees serving multiple jurisdictions. Grantees may establish more stringent requirements, such as requiring the use of HPRP funds within their jurisdictions or establishing residency requirements, but HUD has not established these requirements.     Looking for help paying our rent, my husband is Retired, had a major heat attack in March and I’m no longer working because I’m helping him recover he gets social security and he gets $1400 a month and our rent is $1375 a month, can’t pay the rent this month cause I payed my other bills and had to double them this month and couldn’t pay rent this month, I’m 61 years and my husband is 64 years old do we qualify for rent assistance
